Our family is original from Tequila, Jalisco, best known as being the birthplace of the drink that bears its name, “tequila,” which is made from the blue agave plant, native to this area. Mexican Town, surrounded by agave landscape that has been UNESCO world heritage site since 2006, It was also named a "Pueblo Mágico" (Magical Town) in 2003 by the Mexican federal government.
Our passion for the food and beverage industry comes back from generations in our family, starting with Don Jose Antonio Cuervo y Valdes, who was the founder of the Tequila beverage. The Queen of Spain bestowed him the rights in 1795 when he founded the La Rojeña distillery.
Nowadays 228 years after, part of the family still produces tequila, but Jorge Cuervo took after his father, Don Malaquías Cuervo Rosales, who expertise in the culinary arts inspired by his ancestor’s deep knowledge of the authentic Mexican recipes.
